Between 1982 and 1985, Belgium was terrorized by a series of brutal robberies and mass shootings carried out by a group of masked gunmen known as the Brabant Killers.
They struck supermarkets, restaurants, and businesses, often killing innocent civilians for amounts of money that seemed insignificant compared to the violence they inflicted. Families were gunned down, shoppers were executed at close range, and entire communities were left in fear.
When the attacks finally ended, 28 people were dead and more than 40 were wounded. Yet despite one of the largest investigations in Belgian history, no one was ever charged or convicted.
